Although the extent of modern agriculture expansion in Bangladesh is half a century, there are more than 100 years of incidental history. At the same time, farm farm was established in Manipur (presently the Jatiya Sangsad Bhawan area) in Dhaka. Which extends over 1000 acres of land. The farm is affiliated with the Agriculture Department. In 1909 a laboratory was set up for agricultural research of that farm. In 1914, one district was appointed by the Agriculture Extension Officer in each district. None of these agricultural scientists were knowledgeable officers. Later, in 1943 the graduates passed the first Agricultural College in Bangladesh and joined the agricultural department and since then the work of agricultural extension was started.
